Chelsea began working as a Research Assistant with Dr. Smyth’s team in the spring of 2019. In the fall of 2019, she enrolled in the Agricultural Economics Master’s program at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research focused on the environmental and economic benefits associated with GM cropping systems in Canada, and specifically in Saskatchewan. In the summer of 2021, Chelsea completed her M.Sc. You can find more information about her research here.

Now, Chelsea is working on the Crop Rotation Surveys of Prairie grain farmers. These surveys aim to communicate how the environmental sustainability of Prairie grain production has changed over the past 30 years. You can find more information about the surveys here. Before beginning her research work with Dr. Smyth, Chelsea completed her B.Sc. in Agribusiness at the U of S. She lives near Handel, SK where she operates a grain farm with her husband and children only miles away from the family grain farm she grew up on.
