Each fall, Dr. Smyth has the great privilege of instructing a wonderful group of young minds in the University of Saskatchewan course “Introduction to Agriculture Policy”. While the obvious objective is to teach about agriculture policy, Dr. Smyth also has designed student assignments around ag. policy to get students to improve on their research skills, think beyond their own interests and build on their communication skills. From this course, he is happy to share some of his students’ hard work through student blogs (topics of their choosing) and policy debates (assigned topics and sides). You can click on the hyperlinked text to check out some of the great blogs by students from present years and videos of previous years’ debates.
