Canadian Food Focus, Stakeholder Relations
Today, less than 2% of Canadians have a direct tie to farms and everyone has questions about their food. Canadian Food Focus is a national non-profit that helps people understand how food is grown and raised, and provides trustworthy advice so Canadians can make confident, informed choices about their food.
Canadian Food Focus: Connecting Consumers to Farming & Food
Since 2019, Canadian Food Focus has been working to build food literacy from farmgate to plate. The mission is simple: to connect Canadians with credible, expert-driven information about how food is grown, raised and prepared.
Consumers’ need for accessible, clear and credible information about their food has never been greater. Food prices are high, misinformation is everywhere and it is hard to know where to go or who to trust for information about the foods we eat. All of this adds to the pressure on consumers trying to stretch their grocery budget. Consumers need access to better information from food producers.
Canadian Food Focus concentrates on what Canadians want to know about their food. We share farmers’ stories and provide consumers with relatable information about Canadian food and agriculture, through articles, videos and expert advice on our website and social media platforms. We also provide learning opportunities for food and health professionals such as dietitians, chefs, educators and communicators.
